So What is Quik Pod?. Quik Pod is an extendable handheld tripod, perfect for taking natural photos of yourself with family or friends, without having the arm in the way or looking like you are Stretch Armstrong trying to take a self portrait.

Quik Pod attaches easily to any device with a standard tripod socket. The DSLR extends your reach by more than 4 feet, extends from 18″ to 53″, ideal for DSLR cameras. The standard model extends from 7.5″ to 18″.

The basic Quik Pod, that comes with a carry bag, a pocket clip, end cap and wrist strap costs $24.95. The Quik pod DSLR, that comes with a carry bag, mono-pod rubberized end-cap, aluminum end-cap, hiking clip, gel pad and wrist strap costs $49.95. You can find both of these on the Quik Pod website.

Personally I am a fan of asking strangers to take photos, just cause I like to meet new people in foreign lands but I can also see how the Quik Pod would come in handy.

Mothers Cookies Says Goodbye for Good

I heard a commercial on my lunch break that said Mothers Cookies had gone out of business, due to bankruptcy. I couldn’t believe it! I guess I secretly could but didn’t want to. I love their taffy cookies along with the frosted animal crackers. I have so many fond memories of eating animal crackers with my kids. How sad!

The ending was abrupt: Workers for the company, which shifted its baking and distribution operations to plants in Ohio and Canada in 2006, told workers Friday that operations would cease and cookies would no longer be made as of Monday October 6th. The company cited rising prices for raw materials and fuel, and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. (From SF Gate) For the rest of the story click here.

I guess its the sign of the times, everyone is hurting, its just sad that so many people will lose and have lost their jobs.

They did say that some stores still carry what they have left, so I am off to find those last packages. My family and I will sit and remember the good ol’ days while enjoying some Mothers Cookie happiness!

Are You Losing Sleep over Dreams?

Do you think dreams mean anything or does a person just dream? What causes a person to dream and does everyone dream in color? I have so many questions about dreams that I thought I would look up some of the answers to these perplexing questions and see what I find. Here is what I have found:

Why do you dream?

The brain receives stimuli from many different sources all day long. There are far too many stimuli for it to process. The mind prioritizes the stimuli and makes you aware of those that need immediate attention. The stimuli that you are not consciously aware of are nevertheless noted by the brain, but on a subconscious level. At night, when your body must rest, the mind continues working and the brain concentrates on processing all of those subconscious stimuli and emotions.

Does everyone dream?

Yes, All humans have REM sleep and most dreams occur in REM sleep.

Do we all dream in color?

According to scientists, No we don’t. So if you do, enjoy them.

What do those weird crazy dreams mean?

Some people believe you can interpret your dreams and others don’t. Here are some sites to check out: Dreammoods.com, Sleeps.com, or Dreamota.com.
